Scott Cockburn...

TSB

Assistant Manager (HR Shared Services), 2013-2018

After four years with Standard Life working within the hugely successful Platforms area and then latterly supporting a variety of major projects and change initiatives Scott felt the need to return to a more defined career path and decided to take the opportunity to return to HR with the soon-to-be relaunched, TSB Bank as a key, founding member of their HR Operations team.

In further utilising many years’ experience, Scott was particularly attracted by the opportunity to join an emerging organisation which would be high-profile on both the British High Street and in terms of the work he would be taking on.

After just six months in the organisation Scott was promoted to the role of Assistant Manager taking responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the HRMI function as well as coaching and directly-managing two developers.

In addition he continued to provide large-scale MI and played a key role in the TUPE transfer of 8,500 staff from Lloyds Banking Group and two subsequent group-wide remuneration projects and performance management. His time with TSB culminated in the successful migration of TSB's HR systems under the Sabadell umbrella. However, with the evident wider-difficulties with Sabadell IT Scott opted to move to a new role with HSBC.

Key Achievements included:

  • MI management and delivery for key strategic projects such as TSB/Sabadell HR systems migration, 8,500-colleague TUPE transfer, two large-scale salary, bonus and reward reviews, performance management and implementation of FCA-Senior Managers Regime

  • Significant role in developing and promoting HR MI function within the newly-launched TSB Bank

  • Establishment of first data quality programme with supporting coaching initiative resulting in significant error-reduction

  • Promoted to Assistant Manager role within six-months of arrival
